It's a 1982 Ford Transit!

Wow! Here's a blast from the past! 

These old Transits were once to backbone of Britain and could be heard on every street clattering away and taking workmen to their jobs but have since faded away to obscurity. Vans are usually worked to death and replaced with a newer model when required so to find an old MK2 Transit that's still plodding along is nothing short of a miracle!

This van started out with a 1600 Pinto engine but has since been upgraded to a 2.5 diesel engine and although not the quickest in the world it will achieve relatively good fuel economy. Original colour was Blue/White but it has since been painted in this fetching shade of yellow! You certainly won't lose it in a today's carparks in a sea of white and grey!

87k miles on the clock, tax and MOT exempt.

It's in reasonable condition for a van of this age and recently undergone a fair whack of welding to make it nice and solid underneath. Bodywork is a little bit scruffy with various paint blisters and evidence of filler in places. It starts up first time, goes well and brakes are adequate, steering is not only heavy but it's quite vague with a lot of play in the centre. The driving experience closer to an old tractor than a modern van!

It features 3 seats in the front and a wood lined rear and is sitting on a set of alloy wheels.

If you're after a cool old transit to tinker with and take to the next level this is the van for you, it may be old and shite but with some imagination it's got bags of potential!
