GIBSON MELODY MAKER
PLAYERS GRADE GUITAR SEE PICS
LIVED A LIFE AND HAS BEEN PLAYED AS THEY SHOULD
The Gibson Melody Maker Explorer in black is a stripped-down solid-body electric guitar based on the Explorer body shape, built with lightweight construction and simplified electronics. It uses a mahogany body with a set mahogany neck and a 24.75-inch scale length, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and a minimalist hardware layout focused on direct, uncomplicated operation.
The guitar retains its original single Gibson Melody Maker pickup mounted in the bridge position. This pickup delivers a bright, raw, mid-forward response with more bite and openness than a full-sized humbucker, while maintaining strong attack and direct output character associated with the Melody Maker series.
This modified version replaces the original single volume control with a stacked volume/tone potentiometer, adding tonal shaping capability without altering the external minimalist control layout. The modification allows adjustment of high-frequency roll-off while preserving the original pickup and straightforward single-pickup signal path.
