This isn’t simply an unusual Oldsmobile V8 Hot Rod, this is the actual car featured and renovated by Henry Cole, Fuzz Townshend and the team on Shed & Buried: Classic Cars.
The Oldsmobile was the star of Season 2, Episode 2 “Hot Rod”, aired in 2025. Henry and Fuzz bought the car before taking it back to the workshop, where it received their attention including replacement windscreens and bodywork/paintwork, before being prepared for a proper on-screen showdown at Turweston.
So not only are you buying an incredibly cool and completely individual V8 Hot Rod, you’re buying a genuine piece of Shed & Buried television history.
1978 Oldsmobile V8 Hot Rod
Powered by a 307ci 5.0-litre V8, coupled to an automatic gearbox and built on an Eagle RV chassis.
The lightweight fibreglass Model A-style tub has been nicely finished with a brushed aluminium liner, while the exposed V8 and straight-through 4-into-1 exhausts with freshly wrapped headers give it exactly the sort of outrageous presence a Hot Rod like this deserves.
It has also spent many years as part of a motor museum collection, adding another interesting chapter to an already colourful history.
More importantly, she drives exceptionally well for what she is. She fires straight up on the button, settles into that lovely V8 burble, runs smoothly, pulls like a train and holds a good temperature.
Henry Cole, Fuzz Townshend and the Shed & Buried team did a fantastic job of bringing this wonderfully eccentric machine back to life, and it remains an absolute attention-grabber.
This isn't a polished modern replica trying to look old. It's a proper, characterful, old-school V8 Hot Rod with genuine television provenance.
