A rare 1973 Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail 500cc, one of the short-production Triumph adventure-style models from the early 1970s. This is a matching-numbers machine, presented in excellent original order.
The 500cc twin-cylinder engine starts easily, usually on the first or second kick, and runs very smoothly. When we were filming the bike, it started to smoke, so we have decided to rebuild the top end properly. The barrel will be rebored to +20 and it will be fitted with new pistons, valves and guides.
Once completed, this work will give the bike a freshly rebuilt top end and extra confidence for the next owner. It has also been fully serviced, with new petrol taps, filters, oil, plugs and other service items completed.
Light and easy to ride, the TR5T is a very usable and easy-to-live-with classic Triumph. A rare and appealing machine with matching numbers, excellent originality and the benefit of fresh top-end engine work.
