The odds here are computed from that published ticket cap — the maximum entries — not from how many tickets have sold so far, so the figures hold from the moment a draw goes live. A draw capped at 1,000 tickets gives you at worst a 1-in-1,000 chance per ticket, which is why capped draws are the best odds competitions UK players can find. Compare that with six-figure-ticket draws, where a single entry buys a one-in-hundreds-of-thousands chance no matter how big the prize is. What counts as a low odds competition here?

How are the odds worked out?
From the operator's published ticket cap — the maximum entries — not from tickets sold. Your worst-case odds are one in the cap: a draw capped at 2,000 tickets is at worst 1 in 2,000 per ticket. If the draw isn't sold out at the point it's drawn, your actual odds are better than that, never worse.
Are low odds competitions better value?
