How the odds on this page are worked out

This page lists low odds competitions and limited ticket competitions where the operator caps the number of tickets that can be sold. The odds here are computed from that published ticket cap — the maximum entries — not from how many tickets have sold so far, so the figures hold from the moment a draw goes live. A draw capped at 1,000 tickets gives you at worst a 1-in-1,000 chance per ticket, which is why capped draws are the best odds competitions UK players can find. Compare that with six-figure-ticket draws, where a single entry buys a one-in-hundreds-of-thousands chance no matter how big the prize is. Every competition on this page is a live UK draw with a maximum ticket count of 5,000 or fewer, ordered so the tightest caps — the competitions with good odds — appear first.

What counts as a low odds competition here?

A competition whose operator caps the total tickets at 5,000 or fewer. The cap is the maximum entries the draw can sell, so a lower cap means a better worst-case chance per ticket. Draws without a published cap are not shown, because their odds can't be pinned down.

How are the odds worked out?

From the operator's published ticket cap — the maximum entries — not from tickets sold. Your worst-case odds are one in the cap: a draw capped at 2,000 tickets is at worst 1 in 2,000 per ticket. If the draw isn't sold out at the point it's drawn, your actual odds are better than that, never worse.

Are low odds competitions better value?

Better odds are only half the picture — value is the odds weighed against the prize and the ticket price. A tight cap on a small prize can be worse value than a larger draw for a big prize. Why do operators cap tickets?

A ticket cap lets an operator guarantee the draw goes ahead once enough tickets sell and sets a ceiling on how diluted each entry can get. Capped draws are a selling point for players precisely because they put a firm floor under the odds.

Do all competitions publish a maximum ticket count?

No. Some draws run uncapped or simply don't publish a cap, so there's no way to state a worst-case chance for them. Those draws are excluded from this page — everything listed here has a published maximum ticket count.

Can the odds change after I enter?

In a fair draw the cap can't rise after tickets go on sale, so your worst-case odds can only stay the same or improve as the draw fills. Always check the operator's own terms for the exact cap and draw conditions before entering.
