If you have ever been lucky enough to win one of our Auto Draw prizes over the past few years, it’s likely you have been in contact with Austin, and if you haven’t yet, hopefully you will soon! He is the engine behind the Auto Draw at Revs Comps — a true believer in Rev Comps who has a huge love and respect for all the Rev Heads. Last year, he decided to apply for the London Marathon with the aim of raising money for the National Autistic Society, after his son River was diagnosed with autism in 2022 and ADHD in 2024. A MESSAGE FROM AUSTIN: Hi Rev Heads, Firstly, I want to thank you all for making what we do here at Rev Comps possible, especially the incredible amount of money we’ve been able to raise (with your help) over the years. Without you all, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve everything we have — nearly £1.2 million raised and donated to charity and good causes. This year, I’ve chosen to run the London Marathon to raise money for the National Autistic Society — a charity that means so much to me and my family. Our beautiful 9-year-old little boy, River, was diagnosed with autism aged 4 and ADHD aged 6. Over the last few years, our lives have been completely turned upside down. I wouldn’t change my life for the world. River is like an angel sent from God. He makes me, my wife, my youngest son Raffy, and everyone who knows him better people. But the truth is… it’s hard. It’s really hard. Before River, I knew nothing about autism. When we started to realise he wasn’t developing or behaving in the same way as other children his age, it honestly rocked me to my core. Suddenly we were trying to navigate a world we knew nothing about. I went through a period that I can only describe as grief — almost like grieving. I don’t really know how to explain it. It was very tough to process. There was fear of the unknown, worry, helplessness, and so many emotions I couldn’t even put into words. I love my boys with all my heart, and while there are tough days, there are also so many beautiful ones. Families all over the world are navigating journeys like this, often feeling like they’re trying to do the impossible. That’s why I want to raise as much money as I possibly can for the National Autistic Society — so they can continue helping families who truly need support. Over the coming days we’ll be filming some content to talk about how autism has affected me and my family — something that, for me, may be harder than running the marathon itself. After years and years of getting to grips with everything, I’m still terrible at writing and talking about River. I’ve just spent the last ten minutes crying writing this. Something just takes hold of me and I cry. I cry all the time. It’s hard to explain. What I can promise you is this: I will give the London Marathon absolutely everything I have. I’ll be wearing my National Autistic Society vest with pride. I’m just over halfway through my training plan now — and while the training is tough… It’s nothing compared to what my little boy and so many others like him go through every single day. I’m doing this for River. For the National Autistic Society. For everyone and anyone who has links to autism. I’ll make you proud. Thanks in advance for entering. One of you will win a chunk of cash, and your ticket purchase will go a long way in helping families and children with autism. Thank you. Austin SEE MY FUNDRAISING PAGE HERE
