A stunning Glenmorangie with plenty of chocolate, coffee, treacle and orange notes. A complex mix of some of Glenmorangie’s oldest stock, with some heavily roasted, ‘chocolate’ barley malted single malt. A cracking whisky.
Staff Tasting Notes
Nose – Cinnamon and sweet vanilla appear at first with a distinct richer prune and burnt sugar character behind.
Palate – Sweet at first, with more dried fruits revealing themselves as the palate progresses. The darker fruits give way to complex notes reminiscent of lattes and cappuccinos. A very creamy texture overall with complimentary chocolate and some citrus notes. It has a long finish, filled with cocoa and cream. Rice pudding was found at one point with more oranges and some coffee present.
