1. Who we are, and who these terms are for
Find Competitions is a trading name of a sole trader based in England. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business.
- Email: [email protected]
- Or use our contact page.
These terms apply when a business ("you") creates or uses an operator account on Find Competitions. That includes the operator dashboard, your listing, winner announcements, plans, advertising credits and placements, integrations, AI tools, and any connection we provide for AI assistants (together, "the operator service"). Our player terms cover the public website, app and browser extension.
The person accepting these terms confirms that they are authorised to accept them on behalf of the business. This is a business-to-business agreement, and you are not acting as a consumer.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data. It is a separate document and is not part of these terms.
2. Your listing
- We list operators independently. We collect information about your competitions from your public website, including by automated means, whether or not you have an account. An account lets you manage how your business is presented. It does not let you remove, hide or change the competitions we collect from your public website, or the figures we calculate from them.
- Claiming a listing. You must only claim a website you are entitled to represent. We check a claim by sending a code to an email address at the website's domain, or by asking you to add a DNS record. We may ask for further proof, and we may refuse, suspend or remove a claim. Each business has one owner account.
- Your content. What you add (descriptions, logos, images, links, brand details and winner announcements) must be accurate, lawful and yours to use, and must not breach anyone else's rights. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store it, adapt it for display and publish it on our website, app, browser extension and emails, for as long as it is on your listing and for a reasonable time afterwards while copies are cleared.
- Winners. If a winner announcement includes a winner's name, photo, location or ticket number, you must have their permission, or another lawful basis, for us to publish it.
- Review. We may review listing changes and winner announcements before they are published, and we may decline, edit or remove them.
- Reporting problems. You can tell us about a competition we have shown wrongly or have missed. We will look at every report, but we do not promise to change what we show, or to do so by any particular time.
- Your competitions. You are responsible for what you tell us, and for your own competitions complying with the law, including the rules on prize competitions, free entry routes and prize draws.
3. Our independence
- Trust grades, rankings, reports and sorted lists are our own opinion and calculations. Your plan, the credits you hold, the placements you buy, any commission you pay us and whether you have claimed your listing never change a trust grade, and never change the order of a list a visitor has sorted (for example by price or closing date).
- We do not show players whether a listing has been claimed.
- Paid placements are labelled "Sponsored" wherever they appear. Some links to operators are affiliate links that earn us commission. Unpaid "Featured" picks are our own editorial choice.
- We may show a warning on your listing, suspend it from public view, or remove it, where we have concerns about how your competitions are run, about your terms, or about complaints from players. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. A suspension or removal does not entitle you to a refund of a plan or credits.
- We may publish reports and statistics about the competition market that include figures about your competitions.
4. Plans
- The Free plan costs nothing. Our paid plan, Pro, is described with its price on our pricing page and your billing page. Each plan's features and limits (for example how many rivals you can track, how much history you can see, and how many team members you can have) are the ones shown there.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed after that. We do not refund part-periods, unless we close your account without you having broken these terms, in which case we refund the unused part.
- We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice. A new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period, and you can cancel before then. If you are on a price we no longer offer to new customers, you keep it until you cancel, change plan or we give you notice under this paragraph.
- If you downgrade or your plan ends, the features and limits of the lower plan apply from then on. We keep your settings where we can (for example, tracked rivals over your new limit are paused rather than deleted), but we do not have to.
- We may change what each plan includes. If we remove a significant feature from a paid plan during a period you have paid for, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of that period.
5. Team members
Where your plan allows, the owner account can invite team members. You are responsible for what they do on your account, and for removing anyone who should no longer have access. Only the owner account can manage billing, buy credits or book placements. Each team member must accept these terms when they first sign in.
6. Payment and tax
- Payments are taken by Stripe. You must keep your payment details up to date. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it is made.
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on our prices.
- Receipts are issued by Stripe and are available from your billing page.
7. Advertising credits
- How you get them. Pro includes a monthly allowance of advertising credits, given on the same day each month (yearly subscribers get it monthly too). Any operator can buy credit packs from the credits page. A one-off allowance may be given when you first verify a claim, once per account.
- Expiry. Included credits expire at the end of the monthly period they are given for, and do not roll over. Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase. The one-off verification allowance expires 12 months after it is given. When you spend credits, included credits are used before purchased ones.
- No cash value. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not refundable, except as set out in these terms or where the law requires.
- Corrections. If credits are added to or taken from your account by mistake, we may correct the balance, and we will tell you if we do.
8. Placements
- Booking. Placements are booked for whole periods, shown when you book. You can only promote your own business, competitions and plans, and a placement on a page that lists a particular kind of competition (for example draws under £1) can only promote a competition of that kind. You may book the period that is already running; it costs the same as a full period.
- What you promote. Anything you promote must comply with the law and with the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising (the CAP Code). We may refuse or remove a placement that we reasonably think does not.
- Cancellation. If you cancel at least 48 hours before a placement's period starts, your credits are returned. If you cancel later, or end a running placement early, your credits are not returned. If we cancel a placement, your credits are returned in full.
- What appears. We decide how a placement looks and where exactly it appears, within the description shown when you book. A placement stops showing if the competition it promotes closes, sells out or is withdrawn, or if your listing is suspended, and the credits for it are not returned.
- Unsold slots. Slots that nobody has booked may be shown to other operators, including ones we earn commission from, without charge. Such a slot gives way to a paid booking.
- No promised results. Reach estimates and statistics are based on past placements and our own counts. They are not a promise of any number of views, clicks or sales.
9. Dashboard, data and AI
- Your licence. Your dashboard shows data about your own competitions and about the wider market, compiled by us. We license it to you for your own internal business use while you have an account.
- Limits on use. You must not resell, republish or share dashboard data, exports, reports or anything produced from them outside your business, or use them to build or train a competing service, dataset or model. You may quote your own figures, with a link back to us.
- No scraping. You must not use automated means to access the website or the dashboard, except through the integrations and AI assistant connection we provide, and within any limits we set.
- Estimates. Market figures, sales curves, projections and recommendations are estimates based on publicly visible information and can be wrong. Do not rely on them as the only basis for a business decision.
- AI tools. Some tools use AI to draft copy or designs from your brand details and your figures. To do this we send that information to the AI providers we use. AI output can be inaccurate. Check it before you use it; what you publish is your responsibility.
- Integrations and AI assistants. If you connect an integration (for example an email platform, a chat service or a webhook) or an AI assistant, we send data to it on your instruction. You are responsible for that connection, for the service at the other end, and for what you do with the data sent through it.
10. Personal data
- We and you each decide separately how we use personal data, and each of us is responsible for complying with data protection law for our own use. We do not process personal data on your behalf as your processor.
- If you give us personal data about someone else (a team member you invite, or a winner you announce), you must be entitled to give it to us for that purpose.
- Information about players who visit your listing or click through to your website is reported to you in aggregate. We do not give you players' personal data.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- give us false information, or claim a website you are not entitled to represent;
- use the operator service to mislead players, including through listing content, placements or winner announcements;
- interfere with the security or running of our service, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- try to get around the limits of your plan, including by creating extra accounts;
- try to influence a trust grade, a review or a report by anything other than improving how your competitions are run.
12. Inactive accounts
To keep listings looked after, we deal with accounts that are not used:
- If an operator account is set up but never used, or nobody on a claimed business signs in for a long period, we will email the account holder before doing anything, and give them at least 14 days to sign in.
- If nobody signs in, we may deactivate the account. After a longer period we may release the business's listing so that someone else from that business can claim it. We may delete an operator account that has never been used, after a further warning.
- Signing in at any point before deletion stops the process. A deactivation or release does not change how your business ranks or appears to players.
- Where we delete an account that was never used, we may keep the business contact details for up to two years to tell you about our services, unless you have opted out. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
13. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or close your account, or limit features, if you break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, if a payment is not made, or if we need to in order to comply with the law.
- You can close your account at any time. Closing it does not remove your business's listing, which is based on your public website.
- When your account closes, your licence to dashboard data ends and unused credits are lost. Sections 2 (the licence to your content, for a reasonable time while copies are cleared), 9, 14 and 17 continue to apply.
14. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We provide the operator service as it is and as available. We do not promise that it, or the data in it, will be accurate, complete or uninterrupted.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, sales, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you paid us in that period.
- You will compensate us for any claim made against us by a third party because of content you added to your listing, a competition or plan you promoted, or your breach of section 2, 10 or 11.
15. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions about the service, we may use them freely and without paying you.
16. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Every version is published, with the date it took effect, on our terms history page. For a change that affects you, we will tell you at least 14 days before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on using your account. A minor change is announced, but you will not be asked to accept it again.
17. General
- These terms, together with the plan and placement details shown when you buy, are the whole agreement between us about your operator account.
- We may transfer this agreement to another business, for example if the service is sold or moved to a company, and will tell you if we do. You may not transfer it without our written agreement.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Nobody else has any right to enforce these terms.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
18. Notices and contact
We send notices to the email address on your owner account, and they count as received when sent. You can send notices and questions to [email protected] or through our contact page.
