Lagavulin Jazz 2015 — smoke, soul and a little sax appeal.
This Islay headliner takes the stage at a punchy 55.4% ABV, with just 3,500 bottles in the audience. Matured in refill American oak and European seasoned sherry casks, it knows how to put on a show 💗
The nose opens with a smoky bassline, followed by cured meats, creamy sweet oak and a handful of chewy nuts. Then the palate swings into salted caramel and rich toffee, with raisins and caramelised apples joining the jam.
The encore brings a fresh sea breeze, lingering nuttiness and a final riff of spice.
