Prize value
A very cool 1974 Ford Econoline E100 Shorty V8 boogie van, imported from California and now fully UK registered with V5C. Finished with a soft blue original-style patina, it has a great aged look while still presenting as a solid, usable and well-sorted classic van. The body and roof are very solid, with previous roof work carried out after the removal of an old sunroof fan. The roof has also been Raptor-painted in a matching brown tone, giving it the look of an old Ford leather-top-style roof. It has been professionally underbody sealed, and new factory rubber seals have been fitted throughout apart from the front driver-side quarter window. Powered by a 5.0-litre 302ci V8 and automatic gearbox, it sounds excellent and is easy to drive. The engine has been tuned, with the timing set, a new two-barrel carb fitted, and everything cleaned and running well. It also benefits from a professionally installed full wiring loom, hidden reverse lighting, rear-view/reverse camera, blind-spot dash camera, rear USB sockets and LED lighting. Inside is a one-off custom interior with wooden insulation panels, vinyl flooring, wooden cabinet, rabbit-fur headliner, vintage front seats, and a rear folding bench seat/bed. The upholstery work includes matching door cards, dash cover, sun visors and doghouse cover, giving the van a very distinctive and well-finished cabin. It sits on SS Cragar wheels with four brand-new tyres, with a slight rear rake that suits the van well. It also has chrome front and rear bumpers, solid grille, vintage Ford steel running-board covers, vintage chrome Stears orange-lens front fog lights, and custom Metal Flake City door knob and shifter handle. Recently sorted with a lot of time and money spent, this tax and MOT-exempt Econoline is ready to show, use and enjoy.
